'The Sun Bear' is a part of my ongoing body of work which is based on the concept of visually representing and manipulating human personality using animal symbolism. Western culture associates many different attributes, superstitions and emotions with different animals. I exploit this to change how the audience views a person by using their existing feelings and issues towards a particular animal and giving them a child's face which is generally associated with innocence. The imagery also works in reverse, providing the animal I have used with a childlike innocence.
By cloaking people with animals in my drawings, I visually brand them with emotions what would otherwise go unnoticed by the world. This is how I am changing my world.
